the world is on fire quite literally and i know we are all on the existential train to what’s it all for town but- fashion week still exists to serve as a distraction. observe the silver lining when you can.

copenhagen was giving a lot of y2k weirdness that mostly made me giggle but there were a few that felt like me…

in all honesty i probably wouldn’t wear this ever. like i wouldn’t even think about something like this. and yet, if you said here jenny, wear this…i would put it on and go…ok!!!

the green bedroom

i do sincerely love the casual, romantic vibes of this bedroom and the strong, unexpected color combos.

another paper and paints color, which i would hazard to guess is as much as farrow and ball, but farrow and ball is more accessible to us here in the US. so arsenic it is.

another alice palmer lampshade pendant.

18th century french prints.

this is the bed in the collage. it’s a twin. this is her actual bed. upholstered in mimosa vine in viola.

the little hanging wall trinkets are the best part. 10 little sea star skellies. gold heart. evil eye.

rug.

pressed seaweed. pressed seaweed. pressed seaweed. and more pressed seaweed.

the blanket is one of the key players babe. also good. and a more affordable option. and more options.

the sheets. strong.

the plates are actually bowls. but you can do a little mixin’ and matchin’ here.

part 2 of this insane waste of my time. i kid. sort of. what? doing the lord’s work for free is my speciality.

the yellow living room in the rental of the irving sisters is a collected and layered showstopper.

finding mass quantity or even limited quantity furniture dupes from this space was a near impossible endeavor. the dupes i did find where more than one of you could purchase were probably more than the antique versions. ebay and facebook are your saviors here if you’re lucky. even the sofa is a discontinued ikea sofa covered in a very expensive fabric. so you can’t have that either. the best you can do is throw a pretty fabric over yours and call it a day. i mean, there are a ton of similar fabrics out there to be sure and for far less. and if you are looking to recover and need my help sourcing that i am for hire. but this is just for funsies ok? anyway….the closest i got for the moodboard’s sake is this serena and lily number that is headshakingly expensive. this one too. pretty but c’mon. there is a floral ikea sofa available but too scandi for this room. it’s not terrible tho.

the room is chocked full of carolina irving fabrics- starting with ciara on the little fireplace screen. which after reading i discovered it was used to cover up their ac unit in their old nyc apartment. i looked everywhere for an upholstered fireplace screen. so it’s a fair guess that this one was custom built. but 3 pieces of MDF cut similarly and attached with hinges and then padded and covered in a similar fabric would be so easy.

i especially love the mimosa vine fabric curtain with the seashell curtain clips. another thing i scoured the internet for.

the overhead box pleat pendant is alice palmer. i like this one too.

the mirror in the room is an antique (it all is) the one in the moodboard just fit the thickness (that’s what she said). but i daresay the black against the yellow walls is important here.

speaking of yellow walls….another paper and paints color but this one from clare paint is very similar.

framed butterflies and here.

a large tree of life wall hanging and a suzani wall hanging are incredibly important here. and if you want this look you should def incorporate.

more brass candle sconces. mint green candles.

4 irving and daughters bud vases. affordable too. would make a great gift.

the rug is a great find. it’s deeply discounted. and comes in a variety of stripe colors.

the furniture. ugh. here’s what i found- ottoman. again…easy to replicate with any old cocktail style ottoman recovered in a gorgeous fabric. you wouldn’t need much.

side table.

and leopard is an easy find to recover a club chair.

the vase is by artist katy stubbs and her stuff is amazing. no dupes given. support artists.

the pillows are all carolina irving fabric. almaty and patmos stripe.

the chinese prints are affordable and awesome.

a little (too) high a little low

i have looked at olympia and ariadne irving’s home a dozen times since first seeing it. seemed fitting that i did a get the look situation. starting with the dining room. so much is supremely unattainable but dupes can be found. maybe you already have such things- old, ornate mirrors, GIANT oil paintings of moroccan ambassadors, loads of fabric yardage in block prints and florals. and god loves you if you have soaring ceilings, superior crown molding and a fireplace in your dining room.

starting out with that green paint. it’s a papers and paints color which feels fancy. backdrop has this very close color called pretty ugly that would be perfect.

i think there are so many chandelier options you could choose. but this vintage tole hot air balloon light is pretty cool.

this mirror is incredible but fuck its price in its face.

these antique illustrations are indeed lovely but oy the price. etsy is your friend here. or local antique stores.

silver finish candlesticks are a cheap find. and pale rose candles to go in them.

6 blue goblets. a block print tablecloth. and of course irving and daughters plates- dinner, dessert.

not antique but similarly lined and upholstered dining chairs.

a beautiful antique rug, or not. or not.

some brass shell candle sconces.

a carolina irving pillow.

a stately floor lamp and a red pleated shade.

you could buy a ridiculously priced upholstered bench or you could do what they did and use any old bench and throw a pretty fabric over it.

and i hope one day you can find a magical mahogany chest for which to store your liquor.
