it's friday, it's almost christmas and shit is getting done.

 yesterday i cleaned and organized my linen closet.

 i got rid of tons of old blankets, linens, decorative pillow covers etc..

i couldn't deal anymore with the mess.

and i never used any of it.

so to goodwill it goes.

that shit is organized!

this weekend i intend to sort out fiona's old toys and books that she has outgrown and take those to goodwill too.

christmas is coming and i cannot be a hoarder!

 

my domestic tendencies are in overdrive.

the bar is stocked...

 

 

this shit is in the oven right now..

 

 

 

there are crafty things afoot...

 

mini trees and christmas lights in jars...

 

 

 

if it's good enough for my girlfriend, it's good enough for me:

 

we are getting our tree tomorrow and i intend to decorate the balls out of EVERYTHING!!!

the day before the day i eat my face off

 thanksgiving has been at MFAMB estate for the last 3 years.

that means i am the main cook.

i do the turkey, gravy, mash potatoes and green beans.

mom and MIL bring stuffing, rolls, cranberry sauce and pie..respectively. 

 

some lucky mother farter will get to sit in this gorgeous chair...

yes, that is shiny black. 

i know that i hemmed and hawed over what color to paint these but glossy black won in the end..

in person it is so so good.  the suzani pops hard and they look a lot more awesome in general.

 

settee got a shiny spotty pillow and another lucky m'fer will get to sit in it..

holy shit i woke up with christmas on the brain..

i'm not a big indoor christmas decorator, maybe some greenery and a few hanging ornaments in addition to the christmas tree, i do however LOVE to pimp out the front of our house.  and i have big plans this year..

it will look something like this:   (minus the snow)

no, my house isn't nearly this pretty on the outside..

(it could be with some new paint though- are you listening landlord?)

but i am certain with the windows and door swathed in lighted fresh greenery it will be the prettiest on the block.

 

but fuck it...why stop at the front?

doesn't your deck and/or back yard deserve some love?

i mean if you think about it many of the primarily used living spaces face the back of the house so it could be your only chance at actually looking at the pretty lights unless you go and get your mail in the middle of the freezing cold night..

stick a fake tree in the corner, pray no one comes over to see and then cry til the holidays are over?

or do you embrace that shit, play holiday music all day, bake cookies for everyone you know and decorate the balls out of your house?

i think it's safe to say i am somewhere in the middle.
