if you follow my stories on instagram you would’ve seen me post a pic of a cabinet door hanging off it’s hinges in my kitchen. a thing that happens way too frequently. and it isn’t just that upper door, it’s the door below the sink, it’s the door to the aluminum foil and ziplock bags. not to mention ALL of the upper cabinets only stay closed because of the velcro dots you can’t see. and then there’s the pantry door that won’t stay closed no matter how many velrcro dots are there. even when your husband literally staples the velcro dots into the actual cabinet. yes. he did.
so i had a thought pop into my head the other day, besides my consistent threat of- “I’M GOING TO RIP THESE MOTHERFUCKINGDOORS OFF THE HINGES AND USE THEM FOR SLEDS!!!!!!!!!!”, what if i just covered everything in fabric?
but i’m sure despite having to “repair” the doors when they fall off with a screw gun and/or add more velcro and staples, mike anderson would probably veto that shit.
but then as sure as mark zuckerberg is a robot, i came across the above image. and then i was like THAT’S EXACTLY IT.
i mean why the fuck not?
so let’s look at some 5 gold rings partridge in a pear tree skirted success stories…
yeah. it’s bold. and it’s not even a kitchen it’s a pantry but still. the imagination wanders. i feel like IF i were going to do this i would want something this in your face.
the whole house is goals.
the fabric couldn’t be expensive and it would need to be able to go through a washing machine.
hmmm….do i go this hunting tartan plaid with maybe a soft pink ceiling?
or maybe a swedish blue buffalo check?
or this funky toile?
a folkloric type tapestry vibe?
or this hogwarts inspired diagonal stripe?
