i love books. i love to receive books. these are all the books i want or have and recommend this year.
starting off with the most coveted design book- francois halard: a visual diary. i have long loved the photography of francois halard and chances are if you love interior design you’ve seen plenty of his work. i’d be thrilled to own a compendium of his best work.
near and far by lisa fine - i have this book and it is amazing. all the gorgeous textiles and rich, bohemian vibes.
greco disco: the art and design of luke edward hall - perhaps number 1 on my book wishlist. i follow him on instagram and it’s safe to say i’m in love with everything he does.
beige is not a color by carlos mota - perhaps most surprising to me was this one. page after page of absolute inspiration. the very definition of eye candy.
2020 cabana magazine subscription - not a design book per se but probably about as close as you can get and honestly just as great. i have a few of these lying around the house and they are absolutely worthy of a coffee table. this subscription offers issues 14 and 15 due out in april of 2020 and october of 2020, respectively. so basically a spring and fall delivery that will delight any design lover. ok maybe not the joanna gaines types. you can also purchase past months here.
the last cCastle: the epic story of love, loss, and american royalty in the nation's largest home by denise kiernan - this is the story of the biltmore house. everyone in my family will love this one. every time we go to the biltmore house i wonder if there’s an actual story about all the shit that no one tells you. the GOOD shit. this is it. excited.
dynamite chicken from food52 - the andersons eat a lot of chicken. i’m running out of ideas.
inside tangier: house and gardens - as the title suggests it’s all the most gorgeous moroccan interiors. a vacation in a book. that said, i was pleasantly surprised that there were only a few riad type interiors. a lot of it was just that earthy, textile-y, layered, english vibe with a healthy does of pretty tile.
eat happy, too by anna vocino - the second book from the OG gluten free queen and my BFF. excellent, real food ingredients all low carb.
nothing fancy by alison roman - yes i have a crush on alison roman. really excited to get this one.
a garden can be anywhere: a guide to growing bountiful, beautiful, edible gardens by lauri kranz - first of all lauri kranz designs the most beautiful vegetable gardens i’ve ever seen. i think i’ve pinned them 100 times. second of all i love gardening. but i am really not very good at it. i love designing, planting and watching it all grow. but i hate watering, thinning, harvesting and watching it all die. so when lauri kranz offers a guide i am one thousand percent here for it.
a dictionary of color combinations - would make such a great gift for an artist or designer.
