a book by mike anderson you ask? yes! it’s wonderful and great for anyone with a heartbeat.
Who's ever heard of a flying dog?
Bucky Wall is no ordinary stray pup. He's small. He's odd. And he has an unusually long tail that, with a few shakes, sends him soaring into the sky like a bird.
Some tease him and call him a weirdo and a runt.
But there's magic in being different. And sometimes weirdos turn into superheroes.
Bucky's unforgettable story teaches children the power of celebrating our differences and what makes us unique and is told through the expressive and distinctive visual language of acclaimed artist, R.Land.
spices for the cook who likes things that taste really great. bonus if they are on a no sugar/no grains journey. my dear friend anna vocino (who you should at the very least follow on instagram and subscribe to her newsletter and for god’s sake get one of her cookbooks already!) makes some tasty no sugar versions of everyday things like spice blends, marinara sauces (the pumpkin one is especially good).
holly young is a prolific artist who makes THE best collages. incredibly affordable too. she’s also just such a champion of other artists. you’d be doing someone a solid if you gifted them anything by holly. her colors are soft and neutral and easy to please.
i have a small piece by jen diebert and i love it soooooooo much. her sculptures are so unique and actual conversation pieces. i would take anything in her shop. a lot of it is sold out (obviously) but this one isn’t. take a peek at her stuff, i guarantee you’ll find something that speaks to you. she also offers light therapy sessions. which, nows the time i’d say.
