here’s something that will most likely gross you out- i’ve been sleeping on the same mattress for 22 years. i realize it’s time (way past time) for a new one. this is a purchase i dread because HOW DO YOU CHOOSE A MATTRESS?? there are so many options, so many bells and whistles and things to consider. i need a boxspring. the end. so that’s part of it too. also foam? spring? hybrid? how much should one spend on a mattress? i start out on my side but always end up on my stomach. is foam the best choice for me? these are the things that keep me from buying a mattress. oh, and money.
anyway…i did upgrade my comforter to a buffy cloud. something i have been wanting to do for EVVVEEERRRRR. and ohmygod it’s the best decision i’ve ever made in regards to my sleeping situation. i realize based on the aforementioned confession that we are dealing with a very low bar. i debated for a full year on whether i should get the breeze or the cloud. the breeze tempted me bc i am the queen of hot flashes but i also love to feel cozy and sleep better with a little weight on me. the cloud promised to keep me warm and cool at the same time and i shit you not that is exactly what it does. it really is like a cloud. there’s no better way to describe it. light as air but gooey in the center. (i should not describe things.) but there you have it. go for the cloud. there’s no way it’s not a good fit for you.
but wait! there’s more! i also upgraded to their eucalyptus duvet cover in blush and it is rapturous. so so soft. the blush is very blush. one might even call it pink. it is ever so slightly heathered. is that a word? but goddamn it’s soft. it’s thrilling to make my bed every day. ok maybe not thrilling to make but when you were working with an old ikea comforter full of actual holes that was about as cozy and warm as a flip flop, plus several thin blankets to make essentially one thick blanket which made making the bed pointless and definitely not pretty the simplicity of my new situation is thrilling. also got the pillow cases in white. sheets are next. i’m not a MILLIONAIRE.
i do have my mind set on a few cold picnic bathmats for the new shower and the old tub. i’d love to be able to lay down an old vintage oushak or what have you but one of my cats would view it as her toilet while the other would project his daily barfs onto it. suffice it to say i need washable. but i love this one with the lavender and this black one with a bowl which i can no longer find.
these vans are in my cart. can’t wait for spring y’all. gimme all the vans.
much like the comforter these turtlenecks from everlane are an epiphany. i bought the black one bc i didn’t even own one. dumb. such a staple. it’s soooo soft, clingy but not too. thin enough to layer but not see through so you can wear it solo tucked into your jeans and be your best self. or your best VB self. anyway..i’m gunning for every color.
this gambian pillow making angel is making all the pillows i ever want.
in search of a new candle scent. i’m considering the st. germain #34. or maybe this BIG one. anyone try it? it sounds perfect.
this ilia true serum foundation is all over the gram. i’ve asked several women i know if they have tried and loved and they all raved. have you tried? i wanna try. i love a dewy serum foundation. tell me if you have.
still haven’t picked out your bowls? get on that. 3 lined up in a row is peak cute. six is peak statement.
also check out the new little shop the post at the bottom of this page. a whole lotta wants in that little widget.
